Emergency Report
From time to time, critical bugs prevent KMess from working correctly - usually, they're due to unexpected changes made by Microsoft on the Messenger data transmission protocol. This page contains a description of the most recent issues, how to work around them, and when they will be resolved.
KMess 2.0.4
There has been a change in how Microsoft sends the offline messages, which causes a crash - usually, when you log in.
This issue was fixed and a new version was released, 2.0.5. Please update your KMess, or - if your distribution doesn't yet package 2.0.5 - you can work around the problem by logging in from another MSN client or Meebo, and let it connected for some minutes to retrieve all offline messages. On the next login, you will be again able to use KMess.
KMess 2.0.3
When logging in, an "Error 13" can pop up. Also an issue lying in the display picture systems made them to be reset whenever you logged out.
These issues have both been fixed, and the 2.0.4 version has been released accordingly. Please update as soon as possible.
