After establishing a network connection, the login dialog still displays "No internet connection available"

When a network connection is established, the login window still displays that no internet connection is available.

Steps to reproduce:

  • disable wireless from the network manager applet
  • start KMess
  • bring wireless back up.

This also happens when KDE is starting up, KMess is typically loaded before the network manager applet manages to restore the wifi connection,.
