Give the message editor some rich text capabilities

In KMess, if you type, for example, :D in the message edit then press enter, it shows as an emoticon in the khtmlview. In Live Messenger the emoticon already shows as an image in the message editor itself! If it's possible, we should look at giving the message editor some rich text capabilities. The algorithms don't have to be perfect or complex or anything, as long as the editor widget supports images it should be ok... :)
