Fix MSN+ background gradients

Ticket based on this topic.

At the moment, we use the Qt way of doing text background gradients, but they suck: when any property of the foreground text is changed, the gradient resets so it it's pretty much useless.

We should look at other options, possibly before release, since they're uuuuuugly now.
