Automatically submit crashes by e-mail

Reported by: diederik Owned by: diederik
Priority: major Milestone: kmess-3.0
Component: GUI (general) Version: 1.5-pre2

Description

Most users don't report crashes, or won't report something when it occurs too many times. Amarok implemented a "e-mail crash report" feature, which gave them lot's of insight in crashes. KMess could use something similar as well.

Change History

  • component changed from Other to Global look and feel

Note we already have a crash handler implemented. So all that's needed now is to write a nice user-interface for it.

  • priority changed from normal to major

This is very related to #32; see, LikeBack sends back feedback via HTTP which is even simpler than e-mail. Therefore we could use it to report our crashes.

  • milestone changed from kmess-2.0 to kmess-2.1

This is already implemented in DrKonqi for KDE 4.3. I think we can remove our handler now, and set a proper bug email address in the kaboutdata.
