Just sat down with with Dirk Muller from openSUSE, the 2.0 alpha1 build should be fixed now.

You'll receive an e-mail where you can accept the changes he made to the spec file (it's completely clean now, and with the proper macro's in it).

Additional note: the sound dir should probably be installed in ${DATA_INSTALL_DIR}/kmess/sounds but I'll test it first.

I've copied over Dirk Mueller's specfile, and fixed a small issue in the 1.5.x specfile.

We're now successfully building KMess 1.5.1 and the SVN after 2.0 alpha 2 for the following distros:

  • OpenSUSE 10.2
  • OpenSUSE 10.3
  • OpenSUSE 11.0

There is a lacking dependency (kdelibs5-dev, not a typo) for xUbuntu deb builds: asking on IRC (@ #opensuse-buildservice) I've got an explanation (from user darix) that the Ubuntu 8.04 universe importing to buildservice is not complete yet. KDE4 packages are all missing from BS indeed, while you can find them on  Ubuntu Package Search.
I've been told that the guy responsible for the import (adrianS on IRC) is currently on vacation, so we'll have to wait for our Ubuntu KMess2 packages.

I've also asked Dirk Mueller if he could delete  his branches for kmess2, since ours is working now.

I've updated the obs project to work with the recent addition of QCA2 to the requirements, and updated to the latest revision once again.

I've updated the distribution names to be coherent with the other build service repos. So current state is: openSUSE works, Ubuntu still has an error.

I'll close this ticket, as it works normally, the .deb not being built is not our fault.
