Improve the auto-message and auto-away features

At the moment the automessage is only sent once when the first message is received. KMess should instead send one every X seconds (assuming the contact keeps sending messages). Or it could even be sent when your contacts leave the chat and join back on it.

Another cool option would be to enable auto-away messages for the other statuses. An idea could be following what MSN+ does, it shows a dialog which timeouts in 30 seconds which allows you to choose an away message (and more options) when you choose a status different than Online.
