We've got a new server ready for kmess.org for a while now. It's about time to move towards it! :)

Found one reason why trac is locked so many times... When I tried to login over the last hour multiple search engines were trying to index the changesets. Server load was 10-14. Restarting apache fixed this, I was able to login directly afterwards.

Well, it's just that one reason why the server sucks bigtime so often. Apache goes nuts and the system load skyrockets.

That's why I was thinking about 1) doing a serie of tests to the apache config 2) switching entirely to Lighttpd :)

If we end up doing none, the problem may very well reappear in the new box..

Using a different webserver won't make inefficient trac code more efficient. I'll put a robots.txt on the changesets.

aaaand once more, robots.txt saves the day.

Except for the Wiki and Timeline, Trac is now almost entirely blocked. Shame.

In other news, GD libs for PHP5 were missing and people couldn't post anonymously or register, now fixed after two reporting emails only :P
